Unclear on the concept

An email from my childless best friend:

"What do you do all day? I think I'd go crazy with all that free time on my hands. I would definitely need a hobby."

Ummm, yeah.

A conversation with same friend, couple weeks later:

"I think I'll have my kids back-to-back -- I think 11 months apart sounds really perfect."

Okayyyy sweetie. You get back to me on that when the time comes.

HAHAHAHAHA.

I HATE it when people ask me what I do all day. They act as if it is nothing when I explain that I play with baby, feed baby, change baby, clean, cook, take care of animals... etc. I just quit trying to explain. I don't NEED to explain myself!!

I think a better question would be "What DON'T you do all day?!"

ROFL! Good one Abby! I HAVE to use that as a comeback.

"What do you do all day?"

"What DON'T I do all day?"

Thanks! :-)

Why do people feel like they can ask you that? I mean, yeah, it can be boring but you do end up spending a good portion of your day actually TAKING CARE OF A HUMAN BEING.

My husband and his brother were 4 1/2 years apart. My MIL always acted like she'd been there, done that, got the t-shirt when we'd talk via e-mail and telephone.

Well...she was just here for the first time since the youngest's birth and was so exhausted four days later when she returned home that she went straight to bed off the plane. Then she left work at 2:30 the next day to nap all day. She told my FIL with sheer amazement on the phone while here that I literally do not sit down all day long -- she was just in awe. There's always another diaper to change, another bottle/sippie to fill, food to cook, baths to juggle, etc. I guess 5 year olds are easier to pacify with an infant in tow than a barely-toddler is. Imagine that.

11 months apart huh? Mine are 15 1/2 months apart. So good luck to 'er. Maybe she can sleep during the day with all that free time she's supposed to have. *maniacal laughter inserted here*
